To query the SportsMaestro Baseball database you need to go to the Stat Tables tab of our Baseball Web App, select your filter settings, select players or teams (optional), click the EXECUTE button, then click on the column you want to sort on. Here we will go over this process step by step.
Step 1 Go to Stat Tables Web App: Go to the Stat Tables tab of our Baseball Web App by clicking on this link: http://sportsmaestro.com/baseball

Baseball Stats Button Box
Step 2 Use the Button Box to Select Desired Data Set: The button box is located in the upper left hand corner of the web page. You use the button box to select what type of data you want to look at. There are four rows of buttons and each row must have one value selected (button turns blue when selected).
- First Button Row. Select the discipline: Batting, Pitching, or Fielding.
- Second Button Row. You have the option of querying Player Data or Team Data.
- Third Button Row. Select the time frame you are are interested in: DAILY gives you day-by-day stats, YEARLY gives you year-by-year stats, and CAREER gives you stats over the career of the player or team.
- Fourth Button Row. Select the Stats you want to look at. STANDARD gives you the basic stats, ADVANCED gives you stats the aren’t as common, and FANTASY gives you the option of selecting one of our default fantasy scoring systems or entering your own.

Splits Pulldown
Step 3 Select Desired Split: If you don’t want the data split, leave as is (should be set to DEFAULT). Otherwise, select the split that you want. Currently, we support the following splits: Vs Lefty, Vs Righty, Home, Away, and Vs Opponent.

Cumulative Check Box
Step 4: Cumulative or Non Cumulative: Most of you will probably just leave this unchecked and set to non-cumulative. However, if you do want to see the data in cumulative format click on the check box. Examples of data in Cumulative and Non-Cumulative (default format) are show below. We particulary enjoy looking at the rate stats like BA and OBP in cumulative format.

Filter Panel
Step 5 Select Desired Filters: Available filters may change depending on the settings selected in the button box. For the case above, there are six filters: Year, League, Team, Primary Position, Qualification, and Minimum Plate Appearances. NONE means there is no filtering for that filter. For the non-dropbox filters like Year, Team, and Primary Position you can select more than one value by holding down the CTRL button. For example. you may want to filter on multiple years like 2009, 2008, and 2007.

Player/Team Selection Panel
Step 6 Add Players or Teams: Leaving this section blank gives all possible players (or Teams if you selected Teams in the button box). However, if you’d like to narrow down your analysis to one or more players or teams you can do that here. In the input bar enter the player or team you’d like to add. Then select the player or team and press enter. The player or team’s name should show up in the Selected area to the right. To remove the player form the selected area click on the red X. In this example we have added Pedroia to the Selected area and we’re just about to add Derek Jeter.

Execute Button
Step 7 EXECUTE: Press the EXECUTE button to run your query.

Baseball Stat Table Sorted on OBP
Step 8 Sort: When the query returns the data will be sorted using a default column. To sort on the column you are interested in just click on the column header. In the example above we sorted by OBP.
